I am Mayank, currently living in San Francisco with my wife and our 2 month old daughter. I am originally from the North Eastern state of Assam in India and also lived in Mumbai, New York and now San Francisco.

I like to cook “feel good whats available food” which means open your refrigerator and then think what you can prepare, unfortunately I am not the one who excels a dish, rather create my own version every time. I am a vegetarian and cook all types of vegetarian cuisines (or fusions), I can promise what I cook will taste good and will be the healthiest version of that dish!

More about me.

Growing up I was mostly exposed to Indian food and was later exposed to international cuisine when I came out to study in New York in 2011.

Growing up in Assam, my Mummy (mother) prepared a lot of Gujarati dishes (Dhokla, dal dhokli, thepla etc.) as her family came from the state of Gujarat. She also prepared some concoctions of Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi and South Indian food as she grew up in a very diverse Indian neighborhood. I was also exposed to Bihari food as my papa is from there.

Mummy and papa are both lawyers practicing law in India, so my mother had to improvise her daily cooking. My learnings of hacking ingredients come from there.

I like to try new cuisines and start to create concoction in my mind while eating, next thing i do is try cooking it for my wife. I am an “Explorer” which means, I never follow a recipe so my first version always sucks, from there I slowly optimize to make it better.

Enough said, go check out some pictures, go cook and eat healthy!
